Boaters World
$713,475 in Google Ads Sales and $349,234 in SEO Sales for Boaters World in Their First 12 Months

Description
Boaters World is a Queensland-based eCommerce retailer supplying marine engine parts and boating accessories to recreational boat owners, marine mechanics, marinas, and yacht clubs across Australia and into New Zealand and the Pacific. Their catalogue spans OEM parts from Volvo Penta, Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Cummins alongside aftermarket brands covering service kits, impellers, manifolds, propellers, anodes, and hydraulic controls. Their buyers are not browsing. They are searching for a specific part number, a known brand component, or a category they already understand. In that environment, appearing in the right place with the right product at the right price is the entire competitive advantage.
Profit Drive took on Google Ads and SEO for Boaters World on 29 May 2025, inheriting a campaign structure that had not been built around product depth, margin, or buyer intent. The brief was to rebuild both channels from the ground up around the categories where Boaters World could win commercially — and to point both channels at the same commercial targets at the same time.
Case overview
- Same Categories, Both Channels — The same priority product list drove the Google Ads campaign structure and the SEO category page work. Mercruiser manifolds and risers, Yamaha outboard parts, Volvo Penta components, marine anodes, and Suzuki parts were targeted by ads and optimised for organic simultaneously from day one.
- Efficiency Before Scale — The account was rebuilt to reduce cost per acquisition before increasing spend. Both channels were made more profitable before they were made larger.
- Paid Now, Organic Next Time — Google Ads captured high-intent buyers immediately. SEO built compounding organic visibility across the same product areas. The channel that does not stop when the budget does was built in parallel from the start.
When Profit Drive took over in May 2025, the Google Ads account was not structured around how Boaters World's buyers actually searched. The account was rebuilt around a Performance Max campaign targeting the product categories with the deepest stock and strongest commercial intent — boating spares, inboard diesel components, outboard parts, propellers, and filtration. The SEO work began in parallel, with 554 category pages progressively optimised, priority keywords placed into opening content, and blog content published to support the highest-value product areas rather than generic marine topics.
The launch quarter produced $140,796 in Google Ads revenue at 5.92 ROAS — the baseline, not the result. From November 2025, a clear step-change occurred. ROAS moved from 5.77 in October to 8.23 in November and did not fall below 7 again. December 2025 produced the highest single-month revenue at $74,455 at 8.65 ROAS. January 2026 produced the highest single-month ROAS at 8.69. On the organic side, average keyword rankings improved from position 20.8 to 12.0. Mercruiser manifolds and risers reached position 1. Volvo Penta seawater pump reached position 2. Marine anodes improved from position 26 to position 12.
From January 2026, the focus shifted to sustaining efficiency while growing volume. The Performance Max campaign was refined around the highest-performing categories. Inboard diesel delivered 11.1 ROAS. Filtration delivered 9.6. Dock and mooring accessories delivered 10.2. Across the full campaign period, Performance Max generated $528,744 at 11.13 ROAS from $47,501 in spend. The SEO work matched that focus throughout, with category pages and content built around the same commercial priorities.
The year on year comparison is the clearest proof of structural improvement. January to March 2026 versus the same period in 2025 produced revenue growth of 34%, transaction growth of 51%, and ROAS growth of 13% — all three metrics moving in the right direction simultaneously. As at 26 May 2026, Google Ads has generated $713,475 at 7.14 ROAS and organic search has generated $349,234 — over $1 million combined from a single $99,988 ad spend investment.
